Meant to write a line, ended up with a wall.Predator vs. The chase sequence in terminator 3 was pretty decent though. Which isn't to say Salvation didn't have flaws, mainly the character of John Connor, who didn't have a line of dialogue with more than three words in it for the first half of the movie and then spent the second half of the movie running around yelling out his own name like Timmy from South Park. On top of all that though I can appreciate Salvation more just because it tried to break new ground, where as 3 was just a rehash of the same terminator-trying-to-kill-me-lets-run-away story that the first two used. But the cliff notes: she growls like a jaguar in a few scenes and she shows emotions in others. And dont get me started on the female terminator in terminator 3. The references to the previous films in the franchise were much better in Salvation as well - the voice recording from Sarah Connor (which they got Linda Hamilton to do) and the return of (CG) Arnie at the end.
The jokes in 3 came off as really out of place being an end of the world / apocalypse film. The humor in terminator 3 was almost slapstick humor compared to the humor in the 2nd movie and salvation (or the little bit of humor that there was anyways) which was much more subtle. the scene the mirrors the one in the 2nd movie where he puts on his glasses after taking some dudes clothes but instead of the badass aviators or whatever they were in the 2nd movie they're elton john glasses and the scene where claire danes is being comforted by the psychiatrist from the 2nd movie after her run in with the terminator. The whole movie came off almost as a satire of the first two and tried to make fun of itself and reference previous films in the series to score brownie points with fans - i.e. I thought it was good the first time I saw it when it came out but I watched it a few years ago after rewatching the first two and salvation and it really doesn't stand up IMHO.
